When it comes to the Chicago Bears' head-coach search, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has been a hot name, and apparently quarterback Caleb Williams wouldn't mind playing for the offensive guru.

We know that thanks to a hilarious prank someone pulled off on the Bears signal-caller. Williams received a text from someone claiming to be the Lions offensive coordinator who also said that he had accepted the Bears job.

“Hey Caleb, this is Ben Johnson," the initial text from the prankster read. "Just wanted to reach out ahead of time before it gets released to the media, I will be taking the HC job. Very excited to work with you in the future. Great things.”

It didn't take anything more than that to hook Williams, who responded with a text expressing his excitement for the future with Johnson as the head coach.

“I’m def excited for the future! Let’s get this [expletive] going and turn it around n do what hasn’t been done in years! In the meantime!! [expletive] go kill! We’ll talk soon!” Williams responded.

The prankster then pulled off a FaceTime with the former No. 1 overall pick, and that's when Williams discovered he had been tricked.

“Hey, you’re a great QB but I’m so glad you’re going to get a new head coach,” the prankster said. “I don’t know if it’s Ben Johnson, but I’m sorry about this.”

Check out the text exchange and video of the FaceTime below.

While it's never ideal to get pranked, Williams took it like a champ and seemed to get a kick out of it, so no harm done.

A Johnson-Williams pairing appears to be a real possibility. Rumors have swirled that Johnson has interest in the job, and the two sides are scheduled to meet for an interview on Saturday.

But the Bears will have plenty of competition for Johnson's services, as he has also met with or will meet with the Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Bears are in a good spot among those four teams, though. Only the Patriots can rival Chicago's promising quarterback situation, which will likely play a big factor in Johnson's ultimate decision.

Meanwhile, Lions fans are already bracing for the loss of Johnson in 2025. His exit will be even tougher to handle if he leaves for Chicago.
