New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye has done everything he can for his team this season despite not having the best talent or most experienced coaches around him.

On Saturday, Maye tried to make some magic happen himself on a third-and-4 play on their first possession against the Los Angeles Chargers, as he scrambled out to his right and tried to pick up the first down with his legs.

The third-overall pick took a hit to the helmet and remained down on the field for a few extra seconds. After popping back up and going to the sideline, he was brought into New England's blue medical tent.

Minutes later, Maye left the field and went to the locker room for further evaluation, and veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett began warming up on the team's sideline.

UPDATE: The team announced that Maye is questionable to return with a head injury.
