The second round of the FCS playoffs is here with two ranked teams matching up.

No. 7 Mercer earned a bye after securing the automatic bid from winning the Southern Conference championship. The Bears have a 10-2 record with their two losses coming against Samford and Alabama.

The Bears will host No. 10 Rhode Island in a one-game series. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals.

Rhode Island is coming off a 21-17 victory against Central Connecticut in the first round of the FCS playoffs. Malik Grant led the charge with 223 yards on 29 carries. The sixth-year running back has run for over 200 yards in two straight games.

Grant has 1,372 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns this season, averaging 5.3 yards per carry. It's his third collegiate season with over 1,000 rushing yards.
