The Houston Astros are looking to add some talent to the infield.

Houston has been fortunate to have Alex Bregman as the team's star third baseman for the last nine years. Unfortunately, he is a free agent now and it's unknown if he will be back.

It seems like that may not end up happening. The Astros tried to acquire St. Louis Cardinals star Nolan Arenado, but he ended up using his no-trade clause to shut down the deal.

Luckily, there are options in free agency and the trade market if they want to replace Bregman. That's where the Philadelphia Phillies could come into play. Newsweek's Zach Pressnell put together an intriguing hypothetical proposal that would send Alec Bohm to Houston while bringing sending All-Star Framber Valdez to Philadelphia.

"As a result, the Astros were one of the top teams looking to trade for St. Louis Cardinals infielder Nolan Arenado," Pressnell said. "Despite the Astros not being one of the six teams that Arenado would clear a trade to, they still went after him. By the time the dust settled, reports indicated Arenado had blocked a trade to Houston. What will the Astros do at the hot corner now?

"Enter the Philadelphia Phillies and third baseman Alec Bohm. The Phillies are reportedly looking to trade Bohm this offseason as they shake up their roster. With Houston looking for a third baseman, Bohm is somebody to check into. Acquiring a young infielder with two more years of team control would be huge for the Astros. In a deal, the Phillies would likely want either Framber Valdez or Ryan Pressly as the key return. In the instance that it's Pressly, the Astros would have to attach other players with the righty."

This is just a hypothetical, but it would be nice to bring someone like Bohm to town. Plus, he  would be significantly cheaper than Bregman.
