The New England Patriots have many needs this offseason, but wide receiver is near the top of the list.
As things currently stand, New England's receiver room, consisting of Kendrick Bourne, DeMario Douglas, Kayshone Boutte, Javon Baker and Ja'Lynn Polk is under contract for the 2025 season. However, after a rough 2024, the Patriots should be looking to overhaul the group.
In an article for ESPN this week, NFL executives, scouts and personnel figures predicted that New England will trade for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill after his comments about wanting out of Miami after Week 18.
Hill is a six-time All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler, so his talent is obvious, but the Patriots should look elsewhere for upgrades at wideout.
On the field, the 30-year-old, who relies on his speed and shiftiness will begin to slow down in the near future. He's also proven to be vocal about his role, which could cause some stress on a young quarterback like Drake Maye.
Away from the field, Hill has had a litany of issues, including domestic violence (an issue the Patriots have been outspoken against) during his collegiate career that got him dismissed from Oklahoma State.
New England has other options to consider at the position, including interesting Tee Higgins in free agency, A.J. Brown in a trade and Tetairoa McMillan/Travis Hunter in the draft.
