Paul created Most Valuable Prospects, "a new boxing series created to highlight the next generation of the sport’s best male and female athletes, who all have world title aspirations."
A 2015 Pan American Games gold medalist, Vargas (18-1) is a former NABF junior bantamweight champion. Since 2019, he has gone on a nine-fight unbeaten streak. Despite being deducted two points and getting dropped once, Vargas prevailed in February by taking out Jonathan Rodriguez.
Guerrero (22-0) looks to go 3-0 in 2024 and 6-0 since competing primarily in America. The Nicaraguan has 13 wins via knockout.
Vargas is ranked number first in the WBA’s bantamweight rankings, while Guerrero is ranked ninth. Who will walk out the winner and face champion Seiya Tsutsumi?
Also on the card will be Javon Walton of Euphoria fame taking on Erik Hanley. Walton (1-0-1) is a two-time Junior Olympic national silver medalist who fought Joshua Torres to a draw in his last fight. He looks to continue his growth in the sport against Hanley (1-1), who won his first fight in two years in February.
