As the New York Giants plan out their offseason, another name has been added to the list of potential targets at the quarterback position.

Holding the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Giants also have the second pick in the second round to use on a quarterback should they pass on the position their first time around.

On Wednesday, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL Draft, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN.

Where Ewers will wind up going in the draft is a mystery. In the most recent mock draft predictions from Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News, Ewers was the No. 21 overall pick going to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In a scouting report from Dame Parson of Bleacher Report, Ewers was compared to Andy Dalton while receiving a third-round grade as a "high-level backup/potential starter."

"Overall, Quinn Ewers is a talented, point guard-style quarterback prospect. He possesses starting-caliber talent but lacks consistency or the killer instinct to put opponents away when the opportunity presents itself. Ewers can benefit from learning behind an established veteran before being given the chance to take the reigns of an NFL franchise," Parson wrote.

The Texas product shouldn't be considered for the No. 3 overall pick. However, the Giants could target him in a potential trade-back scenario.

That, or they could hope he falls to the No. 34 overall pick, which is where the Giants are currently sitting in the second round.

In 37 career games at Texas over the last three seasons, Ewers completed 64.9% of his passes for 9,128 yards, 68 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. During the 2024 season, he completed 65.8% of his passes for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

The Giants would likely prefer one of Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward to be available at No. 3 overall, but there's a chance they are gone before New York is even on the clock.

It will be interesting to see what kind of draft projection Ewers gets and if the Giants pass on a quarterback at No. 3, he could be a name to watch.
