ESPN analysts have come under fire recently. First, Shams Charania reported that the Suns had interest in Jimmy Butler, citing Butler's agent as a source. That same agent called out Charania on X, claiming the reports were false.

On Monday night, NFL Insider Adam Schefter posted about Sacramento State being linked to Michael Vick as its next head coach. Schefter included information about Sacramento State's intentions of joining the FBS, its stockpile of NIL money, and its great athletic success.

For some reason, Wisconsin-Green Bay men's basketball coach Doug Gottlieb — a former ESPN analyst — took exception to the post. He called out Schefter on the platform, which prompted Schefty to defend himself in an incredible clapback.

Here's what happened between Gottlieb and Schefter.

Early on Monday, former NFL quarterback Michael Vick was linked to Norfolk State and its vacant head coaching position. It felt like this came out of nowhere, seeing as Vick hasn't even coached at the high school level yet. The situation got weirder when reports surfaced that Sacramento State was also talking to Vick about becoming its head coach.

When Schefter reported about Sacramento State, he mentioned that the school plans to join the FBS and has over $50 million in NIL available. Another post stated that Sacramento State wanted Vick because it wanted to increase its "athletic rise."

The $50 million NIL pool was a little misleading. It initially sounded like the school had $50 million ready for any players to transfer. Instead, they have $50 million in commitments for the next 10 years, so if all that money actually comes in, it will be more like $5 million a year.

Gottlieb called out this mistake. He implied that Schefter was a robot who was just copying and pasting what an agent must have told him.

Schefter initially just responded by informing Gottlieb that Sacramento State had confirmed that it raised the $50 million in NIL backing to qualify to join the Mountain West or the rebuilding Pac-12.

After that, though, Schefter fought fire with fire and got personal. He posted standings of the Horizon League, which includes Wisconsin-Green Bay, and pointed out how the team was in last place and had lost seven in a row. Schefter then dropped the mic and told Gottlieb to get back in the gym and spend less time on social media.

Gottlieb tried to respond by saying he is indeed in the gym daily. He also doubled down and suggested that Schefter needs to edit his sources. Winner: Schefter.

Schefter has yet to respond, but it will be interesting to see if this beef continues throughout the college basketball season. Gottlieb deleted his response about being in the gym daily.
