The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens released their final injury reports of the week on Thursday ahead of their wild-card matchup on Saturday and a total of four players have been ruled out and three others are questionable.
All three of the Steelers players who were designated to return last week — wide receiver Roman Wilson, linebacker Cole Holcomb and defensive lineman Logan Lee — were ruled out for this contest.
The biggest name listed as questionable for Pittsburgh is starting guard Mason McCormick, who is dealing with a broken hand. McCormick spoke on his injury during the week and revealed that if he plays, he'll be wearing a brace, not a cast.
“Not like a full-blown cast. I’m not going to club it,” McCormick said, per Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com. “If I can grip and play, then I’m going to. There will be some sort of brace. Like I said, I’m not going to go if it inhibits me in any way.”
If McCormick can't play, it looks like fellow offensive lineman, Calvin Anderson, will step in for him. Anderson was designated to return from injured reserve this week and was taking reps at right guard in practice.
The Steelers will see the return of cornerback Donte Jackson, who carries no designation into this game after sitting out last week. Jackson may not be 100 percent, though, as he classified his back issue as "nagging."
"It sucks, man," Jackson said per ESPN's Brooke Pryor. "It is frustrating because you work so hard... Just to have your body right to withstand a full season, and it just sucks that you deal with stuff, man."
"Just trying to keep it warm and just keeping up on the treatments. It is really just nagging because I'm such a twitchy [player]. So certain moves just aggravated a little bit," Jackson added.
For the Ravens, the big name we were keeping an eye on over the course of the week was wide receiver Zay Flowers, who suffered a knee injury in Week 18. Flowers has been ruled out, which is a huge break for Pittsburgh's defense.
