Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez 2 is on December 7, with the main card starting at 10:30 p.m. ET. The main event should start around 11:45 p.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.

The two faced off in August 2023. Navarrete (38-2-1) landed 216 of 1,038 shots (20.8%), while Valdez landed 140 of 436 (32.1%). The former landed 34 shots in the twelfth, the most by a Valdez opponent. The tenth saw both men land vicious blows, and after a hard-fought battle, Navarrete won via unanimous decision to retain the WBO belt.

Navarrete has gone 0-1-1 since, attempting to win another title in another division. Back to his proper weight class, “Vaquero” is ready to go 2-0 against Valdez.

“I believe it will be an even better fight because we are familiar with one another. That will lead to more exchanges and better action for the fans,” Navarrete said. “I’m working hard because I know I must push Valdez to his limits.

“The second half of the fight will be less about technique and more about physical training and who is the best prepared to withstand the punches.”

Valdez won interim gold by taking out Liam Wilson.  The former featherweight and super featherweight champion is eager to hold gold around his waist again. He looks to adapt from the previous fight and conquer Navarrete.

“I know what to expect from Navarrete. I know what to train for. I’ve trained hard and smart for this fight,” Valdez said. “In the first fight, I made several mistakes. My biggest mistake was trying to knock out my opponent.

“I always want to give the fans what they pay for, but I focused on the knockout instead of sticking to my game plan. I’m working smarter, fighting smarter, and bringing in sparring partners that better imitate his style.”
