The Detroit Lions saw a bitter end to their 2024 season on Saturday night after losing a mistake-ridden game against the Washington Commanders in the divisional round, 45-31.
This wasn't supposed to happen. The Lions were supposed to be competing for a Super Bowl after a trip to the NFC Championship Game last season and a 15-2 campaign in 2024.
Instead, the Lions are going home and the upstart Commanders will continue what has been a magical season for the franchise. Now, the Lions are left to pick up the pieces and will begin preparing for another run in 2025.
The Lions' 2025 opponents have been set for quite some time now, but here's a reminder of who they'll be facing, just in case you forgot.

Of course, we don't have the exact dates and times for any of the Lions' games yet. That will come in May, when the NFL released the full schedule for every team.
Per usual, the Lions will play their three divisional opponents two times each in the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. From there, Detroit is going to face all four NFC East and AFC North teams.
Since they finished in first place in the NFC North, the Lions also draw matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams.
The Lions won't have the benefit of a ninth home game, something they enjoyed during the 2024 season.
Of their 17 games in 2025, 11 will be played against teams that won double-digit games and made the playoffs this past season. That list includes the Packers, Vikings, Eagles, Commanders, Chiefs, Bucs, Steelers, Ravens and Rams.
