In the intermission of Monday's College Football Playoff national championship, Travis Scott put on a brief performance. 

With Ohio State leading Notre Dame at halftime, Scott became the center of attention on ESPN's broadcast as he performed his new song "4x4."

Some fans found it unclear whether Scott did truly perform live from Atlanta, though, as the scene for his show was on the roof of Mercedes-Benz Stadium — far removed from the field.

Was Travis Scott's performance live from Mercedes-Benz Stadium?

Although Scott's performance of "4x4" technically aired "live" on ESPN's broadcast, the video from the roof of Atlanta's Mercedez-Benz Stadium was pre-recorded.

Some of the features of the performance, such as Scott seemingly being on top of Mercedez-Benz Stadium while the game was at the break and the music-video-like camera work, indicated that it was recorded ahead of time to be broadcast on ESPN.

Although entertaining and unique, Scott's halftime show wasn't live for fans who attended Monday's Ohio State vs. Notre Dame matchup.
