The Longhorns received the fifth seed in the 12-team bracket, just barely missing a first-round bye. This ranking came after Texas lost in the SEC Championship to No. 2 Georgia, the same team that delivered the Longhorns a loss in October.

Texas now has a longer path to the championship, but it'll get to host its first matchup of the postseason.

Clemson snuck into the 12th spot in the bracket with an ACC Championship win over No. 11 SMU. The Tigers have a rough road ahead, starting in Austin.
