The first half of the 2024 WNBA season is almost over, with only a handful of games remaining until the All-Star game and break. What could be a more perfect time for the first matchup of the year?
Caitlin Clark and the Fever travel to Dallas to take on Arike Ogunbowale and the Wings for the first time. While Dallas needs a big win, it's hard to stop Indiana right now.
Powered by Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, it just beat the Mercury for the second time as well as the Lynx, the Commissioner's Cup champion and a favorite for the league title. The Fever's trio is continuing to click, momentum that could keep them within playoff chances once the season returns. And Clark is at the center of it all, making her case for Rookie of the Year known with five straight double-doubles and 11 consecutive double-digit scoring games.
Meanwhile, the Wings need to defend home court and get their sixth win before the break. Ogunbowale is doing her part, averaging 22.2 points a game, the third-most in the league. It'll be a battle of the big scorers on Wednesday night as Clark and Ogunbowale, both 2024 All-Stars, face off for the first time.
