For the first time since 2000, no American women will be on the podium in Olympic women's beach volleyball.

On the plus side, Canada makes history with Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes as the pair has guaranteed their country will medal in the event for the first time. They face Brazil's Ana Patricia Ramos and Eduarda Santos Lisboa in the gold medal match. The pair will be playing for their first medal and Brazil's second title after the nation won the inaugural event in 1996.

The Canadians will have to dig deep to dethrone the Brazilians, who are the top-ranked pair in the world according to FIVB standings. But Wilkerson and Humana-Paredes eliminated out Team USA's top pair of Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss, ranked No. 2.

In the bronze final, Switzerland's Tanja Hueberli and Nina Brunner will have no easy task as they line up across from reigning silver medalists Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy of Australia.

Here's how to watch the action unfold in the final day of Olympic women's beach volleyball.
