At this rate the Seattle Seahawks defense is going to maim a quarterback before the NFL trade deadline. For the third straight week, Mike Macdonald's front-seven has been absolutely all over the opponent in the backfield. Their latest victim is Miami Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson, who was already subbing in for Tua Tagovailoa, who landed on the injured reserve list this week with a concussion.
The Seahawks showed no mercy to Thompson from the start, and they've managed to pressure and pummel and sack and whack him so much that he's been knocked out of the game, not even halfway through the third quarter. The tally? Five sacks and nine quarterback hits. The last one was relatively light as far as QB hits go, but Thompson's body had had enough and he didn't get back up afterwards.

Tim Boyle is now in at quarterback for Miami. Seattle leads 17-3 and it's extremely difficult to see the Dolphins scoring a touchdown the way things have gone so far.
This is the same way the Seahawks treated Bo Nix in Week 1 and Jacoby Brissett in Week 2. If they can manage to do the same to Jared Goff next Monday night against a very tough Detroit Lions offensive line, then they can do it to anybody.
