The Cardinal spent their first seven matches solidifying themselves as a powerhouse squad, moving up the ranks to No. 2 while running a gauntlet of ranked teams. Stanford swept No. 6 Texas at home last weekend as setter Kami Miner ran the offense flawlessly, tallying 35 assists.
Stanford suffered its first defeat of the season Wednesday falling 3-0 at No. 5 Nebraska ahead of Saturday's showdown against No. 11 Kentucky.
The Wildcats' skill was on display in a 3-0 sweep of SMU, a dominant performance against a Mustangs squad that had upset Nebraska just a week prior, but Kentucky heads to California coming off consecutive 3-1 losses to top-10 teams in Purdue and Louisville.
