College baseball returns to good old Rocky Top for the 2024 Super Regionals. For the fourth straight year, Tennessee has made it to the round of 16. It's trying to make its second straight College World Series appearance and its second ever championship.
First, it needs to get through Evansville. The Purple Aces are the only four-seed to make it to the Supers after they downed East Carolina in Greenville. They're the ninth ever four-seed to win an NCAA baseball Regional. The trip to Knoxville marks their first Super Regional appearance and first faceoff with the Vols.
Playing Tennessee will be a challenge in itself as the Vols are the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. They lost just 11 games this season en route to an SEC regular season and tournament title.
Clearly, the Aces know how to fight. An upset in the Knoxville Supers would mark one of the biggest in NCAA tournament history. It all begins on Friday, June 7 as Tennessee and Evansville fight for a spot in the College World Series.
