NBA DFS picks for today, Friday, May 3: NBA Playoffs first round
Paulo Banchero 24.5 points: HIGHER
Banchero is the key to everything the Magic do offensively. He scores, passes and rebounds at a high level. His scoring is key, though, and outside of a blowout win in Game 4, he has scored over 20 points in every game of the series. He had a monster Game 5, scoring 39 points. He may not go for 35+ again, but going HIGHER than 24.5 points is likely — something he has done in two of his last three games.
Luka Doncic 53.5 points + rebounds + assists: LOWER
Luka Doncic is an MVP-caliber player, and his playoff numbers have been as good or better than any player in the league. He is averaging 48.2 combined points, rebounds and assists. Doncic led the Mavericks to a win in Game 5 with 35 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. Taking the LOWER here has nothing to do with his incredible ability, but it is a line that is too high. Doncic has not gone HIGHER than 53.5 this postseason — all the love around him and people picking the HIGHER is driving the line too high.
James Harden 14.5 points: HIGHER
Harden has stepped up big time this postseason for the Clippers and has looked like the Houston MVP version of himself in every game except for Game 5 against the Mavs. He only scored seven points in Game 5, but prior to that he scored 28, 22, 21 and 33 through the first four games of the series. After an off-game, his line has fallen all the way down to 14.5 points. Expect Harden to bounce back and go higher than 14.5.
