The Boston Red Sox’s contract offer to Juan Soto has been revealed, per MLB insider Mike Rodriguez. According to Rodriguez, the offer is for 12 years, and around $50 million per year.
“I just finished a call, and sources from #Boston informed me that the player spoke for over an hour with Rafael Devers about the team. There is a 12-year offer for around $50M per season, and #JuanSoto is interested in the idea of going to the Red Sox. Currently, the Red Sox are a strong contender for outfielder”.
If the Sox can land Soto, this would be huge. It would definitely prove the critics who think the Sox have a negative stereotype wrong, and could encourage other players to come to Boston.
Currently, if the Sox hypothetically sign Soto, they will focus all their assets on acquiring pitching. The Sox are currently going all out to get Max Fried and Corbin Burnes.
The Sox are also working to trade for Garrett Crochet, but it seems talks have cooled down, due to the Chicago White Sox asking for too much.
Hopefully, the Sox get Soto, and all the other pieces fall into place. Then the Sox could return to their glory days of World Series contention.
