Former world champion Joseph Diaz looks to win two straight fights for the first time since 2019-2020 when he faces Jesus Perez on February 15. The fight and card in California airs on DAZN worldwide.
Diaz turned pro in 2012 and is a former NABF featherweight champion. "JoJo" lost his first pro fight in 2018 when he challenged Gary Russell Jr. for the WBC featherweight title. He beat Jesus Rojas that year to win the WBA featherweight belt and won the IBF super featherweight title in 2020 against Tevin Farmer. Moving divisions, Diaz won the interim WBC lightweight title against Javier Fortuna in 2021. However, he lost three straight fights after, with one against Devin Haney.
The 31-year-old last fought in July, beating Jerry Perez. Diaz looks to regain momentum in this contest.
"I am excited to let the boxing world know I’m back on track," said Diaz. "My comeback continues on February 15. After this, I want all the top guys."

Perez turned pro in 2016. "Ricky" is 2-3 in his last five fights and 4-5 in his previous nine. He is on a two-fight losing streak, his last contest a decision loss in May against Brian Norman Jr.
"I know how important this fight is for me, a win over JoJo Diaz would open many great opportunities," Perez said. "I am working extremely hard to put on a great performance. One thing for sure, the fans are going to get their money’s worth. It is going to be a war!"
