Another week, another bunch of injuries for the Detroit Lions to be concerned about after their 23-20 Week 13 win over the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving.
The list of wounded include linebacker Malcom Rodriguez (knee), defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike (hamstring) and defensive end Josh Paschal (knee), all of whom didn't return after exiting.
After the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell said he's most concerned about the injury to Rodriguez, but added that Onwuzurike and Paschal "could be down for a bit," according to Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News. Campbell did not provide a timeline for any of the three players, though.
"I think (Rodriguez) is the one that could be the worst," Campbell said, per Pride of Detroit.
The Lions have been absolutely snake-bitten by injuries this season, but Campbell is not one to complain about it.
"Does it really matter? Who cares?" Campbell said, per Bianchi. "Worrying about it and moaning about it and bitching about it...what does it matter?"
"Whoever we have available... we expect them to hold the line," Campbell added.
Linebacker has been one of the most injury-plagued spots for Detroit. Rodriguez is now added to the list of wounded at the position that also includes Alex Anzalone, Derrick Barnes and Jalen Reeves-Maybin, all of whom are on injured reserve currently.
The Lions did sign David Long in the wake of the injury to Anzalone, and it looks like he might be pushed into a bigger role moving forward.
Detroit also has several defensive linemen on injured reserve, including Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, John Cominsky and Kyle Peko.
Despite all the injuries, the Lions keep on rolling right along and have now won 10 straight games to improve to 11-1. The way the Lions have been able to overcome all of the injury issues has been impressive, but at some point you have to wonder if they'll catch up to the NFC North leaders.
