Gallen vs Huni: Gallen threatens to end Huni's Olympic dream image

Paul Gallen has promised to end Justis Huni’s Olympics dream when they meet in the ring in Sydney on Wednesday night.

After months of heated back and forth between Gallen and Huni’s camps, the heavyweight blockbuster is now just two days away.

In the course of the build-up, Gallen has been labelled a donkey and a pig, and used Monday’s press conference to hit back.

“Their number one concern is the Olympics, but I'm going to be doing everything I can to make sure you don't go to the Olympics," Gallen said.

"Break your jaw, break your face, break your arm - I don't care.

"I don't care what he's (Huni) going to do, I'm going to be doing everything I can to make sure you don't go to the Olympics.

"That dream you've had since you were seven years old is going to be fucked.

"I'm doing everything I can to break something in there. Just make sure you know that. I'm going to ruin your dream.

"I'm determined to hurt this bloke and make sure he doesn't go to the Olympic Games.

"Whether I have to break something, I don't care how I do it, rest assured I'm going to do everything I can to make sure he doesn't go to the Olympic Games."

Gallen even had a crack at Justis’ dad and trainer, Rocki, when he intervened.

“Rocki, you know what the most embarrassing thing is? A father trying to live their failed sporting career through their son," Gallen said.

"Just sit there and shut up."

Gallen's frustrations stretch back well over a month, with the former New South Wales Origin captain furious that Huni's camp is overlooking him in favour of Tokyo.

Asked what was behind the outburst, Gallen said he finally grew tired of the constant attacks coming his way.

“There comes a time where you've gotta stick up for yourself," Gallen told Sporting News.

"The whole build-up has been them putting crap on me, but I haven't put anything on them. I've said one thing, and that was that Justis has quit - which he has - they called me a donkey and a pig and my nickname's Eyeore, but there comes a time where you've gotta stick up for yourself.

"Everyone puts shit on me, but when I go back at them, I'm perceived to be the bad guy. I don't get that, all I did was stick up for myself."

Gallen said his pointed attack at Rocki was a fair payback for the "donkey" and "pig" calls that have been lobbed his way.

"I see it in junior rugby league all the time - the parents on the sideline who always seem to be the loudest always have their failed sporting dreams and are trying to live them out through their kids," Gallen told Sporting News.

"I don't think it's a good thing, or a nice thing.

"At the end of the day, Rocki was the one who called me a pig and a donkey and I've gotta stick up for myself.

"I'm not making anything up, I'm not bad mouthing people just for the sake of it. I've been called a pig and a donkey, why is it an issue when I stick up for myself?

"When I stick up for myself, I'm seen to be the grub or the bad guy or I'm trying to intimidate people, but when people put shit on me, it seems to be accepted.

"That frustrates me and there comes a time when you've gotta stand up for yourself, which is what I did today."
