UEFA Nations League, plus World Cup and AFCON qualifying: Updates and highlights

All times CET.

10:29 p.m.: Pavlidis has scored again... but it's disallowed! The Benfica striker turned home from close range after Pickford's throw-out was intercepted, but VAR determines he was just offside. Huge let-off for England.

10:26 p.m.: England, and San Marino, are still trying to find an equaliser tonight. It's fair to say a little more was expected of one than the other. This has been a poor display at Wembley from Lee Carsley's team.

10:14 p.m.: Erling Haaland, record breaker! He's scored his second of the night for Norway and is now their leading all-time goal-scorer.

10:12 p.m.: Bukayo Saka has left the field injured. He was hobbling shortly after Greece went ahead and he's been substituted for Noni Madueke. That's a big concern for England and Arsenal.

9:59 p.m.: Belgium are level! Leandro Trossard turns home a rebound after Wout Faes was denied. Can they turn it around completely?

9:54 p.m.: Greece lead England! Vangelis Pavlidis finishes well after some awful Three Lions defending. He then pays tribute to George Baldock, along with his team-mates.

9:30 p.m.:  Halftime scores in these later games:

Israel 1-2 France
Italy 2-1 Belgium
England 0-0 Greece
Finland 1-0 Republic of Ireland
Austria 1-0 Kazakhstan
Norway 1-0 Slovenia
Faroe Islands 1-1 Armenia
Gibraltar 0-0 San Marino

In AFCON qualifying, Algeria and Togo is locked at 1-1, while Burundi are 1-0 up at Burkina Faso. Japan and Iraq still lead 1-0 in their AFC World Cup qualifiers, which have around 15 minutes to go.

9:30 p.m.: The Faroe Islands have equalised against Armenia. It's only the fifth game they've scored in since March 2023!

9:27 p.m.: Red card for Italy and a goal for Belgium! Lorenzo Pellegrini has been sent off. He caught Arthur Theate high and a VAR review decided a sending-off was warranted. A minute later, Maxim De Cuyper had halved the deficit, sweeping home an absolute pearler into the bottom corner from a well-worked free-kick.

9:18 p.m.: France have regained their first-half lead over Israel. Omri Gandelman scored with the hosts' first shot after Eduardo Camavinga's opener, but Christopher Nkunku has made it 2-1 to Les Bleus.

9:16 p.m.: Italy now lead Belgium 2-0, Mateo Reteui scoring from close range after a save from Koen Casteels. The move started with a quite spectacular crossfield pass from Federico Dimarco. Here's how you can watch that game in the U.S.

9:01 p.m.: Levi Colwill has just made a brilliant goal-line clearance to stop Greece taking the lead. They found the net from the resulting corner, but there was a clear offside. In both incidents, Jordan Pickford made an absolute mess of things.

8:57 p.m.: Remember that Haaland guy I mentioned? It took him seven minutes to score tonight. He is now Norway's joint-record leading goal-scorer of all time, with 33. He's played 36 games.

8:45 p.m.: We're off and running in the later UEFA Nations League games. And Italy are already 1-0 up on Belgium! Andrea Cambiaso has scored in just the second minute!

8:44 p.m.: Ever seen a free-kick struck so well that nobody seemed to know if it had gone in? Over to you, Bahrain's Mohamed Marhoon.

8:32 p.m.: Meanwhile, Crystal Palace's Daichi Kamada has put Japan 1-0 up against Saudi Arabia. It's the first goal they've scored on Saudi soil in a competitive game.

8:27 p.m.: Oman were 4-0 winners over Kuwait in World Cup qualifying earlier today. Abdul Rahman Al Mushaifri scored twice, including this absolute peach of a finish. In off the post and everything.

8:17 p.m.: Here's John Stones, who will captain England tonight for the first time. Hopefully he knows exactly how the team will be set out with all those attacking midfielders.

8:05 p.m.: France, without the rested Kylian Mbappe and retired Antoine Griezmann, have a new-look attack against Israel that consists of Chelsea's in-form Christopher Nkunku and Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani. Aurelien Tchouameni is captain in Mbappe's absence.

8:02 p.m.: Arsenal's Riccardo Calafiori is at centre-back for Italy this evening against Belgium. He could have his hands full against a front three of Jeremy Doku, Lois Openda, and Gunners team-mate Leandro Trossard.

8:00 p.m.: England have named their starting lineup to face Greece at Wembley and, interestingly, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden AND Cole Palmer are all in the 11! It looks like Manchester City's Rico Lewis will be at left-back, with Anthony Gordon perhaps as a centre-forward. Interesting system from Lee Carsley.

7:47 p.m.: Maybe, just maybe, the game of the night will be far away from the glamour of Erling Haaland and Europe's powerhouses. Gibraltar and San Marino, two of the three lowest-ranked UEFA nations in the world, meet on the rock itself. You can our latest odds and predictions here.

Is this what the Nations League is really all about? I've no idea. But I'm genuinely fascinated to see what happens.

7:14 p.m.: Israel vs. France is officially an away match for Les Bleus, although the game itself cannot be held in the country's traditional venue in Ramat Gan due to the ongoing conflict with Hamas and Hezbollah. Here is where they play their "home" games at present.

7:02 p.m.: Norway are also involved today, and some striker called Erling Haaland might be about to break a goal-scoring record. Two goals against Slovenia, and he'll have smashed the best scoring rate in his country's history. Who saw that coming?*

*Everyone. Everyone saw it coming.

6:33 p.m.: England, France, Italy and Belgium are all involved in the UEFA Nations League today. The Three Lions' game against Greece at Wembley will be preceded by a minute's silence in memory of George Baldock, the former Premier League player who died this week.

6:22 p.m.: We've already had a few international fixtures today, specifically in the AFC's World Cup qualifying section. There was a good result for the Socceroos and new coach Tony Popovic after they fell behind to China, while South Korea got a 2-0 win at Jordan in the absence of Son Heung-min.

6:00 p.m.: Welcome to our live coverage from this latest international break! England, France, Italy and Belgium are all in UEFA Nations League action today — not to mention the HUGE matter of Gibraltar vs. San Marino — while there's World Cup qualifying and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, too. Stay tuned!
