Two of the top wrestling schools in the nation face off for the first time this season when Penn State hosts Ohio State on Friday, Feb. 2.

Penn State (7-0) is No. 1 in the NCAA wrestling rankings. The Nittany Lions finished January with a run of three meet wins in a row, all away. Maryland was the team's latest victory, with Penn State beating the Terrapins 42-6 to extend its win streak against Maryland to nine.

No. 7 Ohio State (12-1) is coming off a 20-19 win against Michigan. The last loss for the team was in December, and the Buckeyes are now on an eight-match win streak.

Penn State has an eight-match win streak against Ohio State since 2016. The rivalry started in 2005, and Penn State has the 12-6 overall edge. When they faced off in February 2023, Penn State won 29-9.
