Boston College will look for revenge when it takes on Northwestern in a rematch of last year’s NCAA women’s lacrosse tournament championship game on Thursday.

The Wildcats defeated the Eagles twice last season, including an 18-6 victory last May to capture the program’s eighth national title.

No. 4 Northwestern (3-1) has already matched its loss total from the 2023 season. The Wildcats fell to No. 2 Notre Dame, but tout victories over No. 7 Syracuse and No. 20 Colorado.

After scoring a whopping 99 goals last season, Izzy Scane is off to another strong start, with 10 goals to her name. Madison Taylor leads the way with 16 goals. The two players combined for eight goals and 10 total points in the championship game last season.

No. 1 Boston College (5-0) looks every bit as good, if not better, than last year’s group. The Eagles have overtaken the Wildcats for the top spot in the polls, and are out-scoring the opposition 94-24 so far this season.

Kayla Martello and Rachel Clark lead the way with 17 and 16 goals, respectively.
