Simone Biles will embark on her quest to capture a historic ninth national title at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships this week in Fort Worth, Texas. Fellow Olympic all-around gold medalist Suni Lee will also compete for the crown.

The competition comes less than a month after the Core Hydration Classic, an event that concluded with Biles claiming another all-around title. She also won gold on floor and silver on uneven bars and balance beam.

Unfortunately for Gabby Douglas, her bid to reach Paris ended before the U.S. Gymnastics Championships began. The 28-year-old dropped out of the competition because of ankle injury that she suffered during training.

On the men's side, two-time U.S. all-around winner Brody Malone will return to compete on all six apparatuses after sitting out for several months following multiple surgeries last year. Reigning champ Asher Hong will also compete with the other members of the U.S. team that took bronze in the most recent World Championships.
