The Tennessee Titans' abysmal 2024 season will continue on Sunday, as the team will host the New England Patriots at Nissan Stadium in Week 9. Brian Callahan's squad is 1-6 and is on track to land a top-three selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
With the 2024 campaign dead in the water for the Titans, the franchise should look to move some of their veteran assets at the Nov.5 trade deadline. Tennessee's roster isn't filled with many valuable pieces, but one player who could be a hot commodity on the open market is edge rusher Arden Key.
Key signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Titans in 2023 and likely won't be back with the team when his contract expires. Trading the veteran to a contender for draft capital would be a savvy move from general manager Ran Carthon.
A plethora of teams would be interested in Key's services, but USA Today's Glenn Erby believes the Baltimore Ravens are a potential landing spot for the former third-round pick.
Key has proven to be a solid edge rusher throughout his career and has three sacks on the year with six quarterback hits through seven games with the Titans.
Key got off to a slow start but has posted three sacks and six quarterback pressures over the last two games. The former LSU standout has tallied 13 quarterback pressures through seven games and boasts a 71.4 PFF grade.
The Ravens' edge rusher room is solid, but defensive coordinator Zach Orr loves to rotate pass rushers and keep his players fresh. Key has thrived in that role in the past and would be a fantastic addition to Baltimore's defense.
Trading for Key shouldn't be too difficult for general manager Eric DeCosta, as the 28-year-old is on a reasonable contract, and a Day 3 pick should be enough to bring the veteran to Baltimore.
This is a no-brainer for both teams, as the Ravens would bolster its pass-rushing unit, while the Titans would obtain vital draft capital for a veteran and gear up for an offseason rebuild.
