The San Francisco 49ers entered the season with plenty of questions in the wide receiver room.

Brandon Aiyuk was looking to get moved or a massive new contract, and after months of speculation, he ended up signing a mega deal to stick around with the 49ers for the foreseeable future. It was a good deal, but he now will miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL in his knee.

Fellow star receiver Deebo Samuel dealt with an injury early on but was able to return to the field. It's uncertain when he will be back, though, as he was hospitalized due to having fluid in his lungs.

San Francisco's receiver room has taken a serious hit, and now, with Aiyuk done for the season, it could make sense to pull off a trade before the Nov. 5 deadline to add more talent. Because of this, FanSided's Sayre Bedinger urged the team to look into a deal involving Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton.

"Sean Payton did sort of diminish those trade rumors, and both the Broncos and 49ers figured out contractual stuff with Sutton and Aiyuk, respectively," Bedinger said. "With that in mind, if the 49ers were willing to offer a 3rd-round pick for Sutton back in late August, and they are still willing to offer something like that today, things could get interesting.

"I'm not saying the Broncos will be motivated to trade Courtland Sutton, but I don't think they would scoff at the phone calls. There are a few reasons for that...I would not be surprised in the slightest if the Broncos got calls on Sutton from the 49ers, specifically, nor would I be surprised if the Broncos entertained the idea of trading Sutton."

This is just speculation, but it is a good idea. Sutton is under contract for one more season on a four-year deal worth roughly $60 million. He has 21 receptions for 277 yards and has been in trade rumors on multiple occasions over the last few years. He is a guy that at least is worth watching. Who knows? Maybe the 49ers will surprise us.
