The NFL script is something to behold.
A Lions playoff run, a Taylor Swift Super Bowl, another Kyle Shanahan overtime loss. Few could've predicted this season from start to finish. It can't be denied that it was entertaining, though, and it rightfully ended amid the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas.
As conspiracy theorists know, you almost can predict the upcoming NFL season using the Super Bowl logo colors. That conspiracy theory didn't actually pan out for the 2024 title game, but fans can begin to speculate about next year.

Super Bowl logo conspiracy theory
Super Bowl logos are revealed far ahead of each season, but that doesn't stop the conspiracy theories that the designs predict the big game.
Beginning with Super Bowl 56, the NFL changed the game's logo to colored Roman numerals rather than the previous solid gray blocks. Since then, the coincidence between the colors and the teams playing in the game has been a bit uncanny.

The Chiefs played spoiler to the Ravens this year, denying them a Super Bowl bid, but Baltimore and the 49ers were the No. 1 teams all season. So the logo prediction wasn't too far off.
Michael Irwin spoke to the Sporting News about the conspiracy theory and put it to rest. He's a former art director for the NFL and oversaw the creation of many designs, including the logos for Super Bowl 51 through Super Bowl 55. The logos are created over two years in advance, making a Super Bowl prediction extremely difficult, Irwin said.
"As much as I love the idea of a designer having that much pull on the largest sporting event of the year, yeah [the conspiracy] is not [real]," Irwin said. "What a flex that would be if it was."

Super Bowl 59 logo
One day after the Chiefs' win over the 49ers in Super Bowl 58, the NFL unveiled the logo for Super Bowl 59, which will be held in New Orleans. It's an extra special design this time.
Logos always honor the host city, whether it's through skylines or iconic infrastructure. To memorialize New Orleans, the NFL decided to partner with a local artist to bring the city's culture to life.
Tahj Williams, a member of the local Black Masking Indian tribe, designed the logo for her hometown Super Bowl using traditional beading methods. The result is a red LIX with green fleur-de-lis swirling throughout.
For the first time ever, the NFL collaborated with a local artist on the creation of a Super Bowl logo.

Even still, fans had their thoughts on what the new logo could mean for the conspiracy theory. Most signs point to the Chiefs for a three-peat, given the red background, but the potential identity of the green team is a bit more nuanced. The Seahawks? The Packers? The Eagles for a 2023 rematch? The Jets with a comeback story for a healthy Aaron Rodgers?

What’re we thinking?

The chances of Super Bowl 59 following the logo theory script are slim but not zero. Why red and green were chosen for the 2025 game are known only to Williams, but come next season, we'll see how the potential prediction plays out.
