Ravens and Titans predicted to make trade involving $26 million star image

With the Tennessee Titans in the midst of a disastrous season, there is one player on the roster in particular who the team needs to move — and the Baltimore Ravens should be all over him if he becomes available.

That player is wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who is in the final year of his two-year, $26 million deal at the age of 32. While Hopkins has made it clear he wants to stay in Tennessee, that's not something the Titans should even be considering.

General manager Ran Carthon must have learned his lesson from Derrick Henry, who the team kept for sentimental reasons last season instead of trading him and getting some kind of asset.

In 2024, Henry left for the Ravens, who were reportedly interested in trading for him before last year's deadline, which only made his departure to the Titans rival even more painful.

In a recent article that dreams up landing spots for big-name players who could be on the move ahead of Nov. 5, Pro Football Focus' Bradley Locker envisions the Titans sending Hopkins to the Ravens.

The Ravens already rank second in receiving grade, but the team’s wideouts haven’t been on par. Zay Flowers (75.8 receiving grade) has solidified himself, but no other Baltimore receiver sits above a 75.0. Isaiah Likely and Justice Hill have been valuable pass-catchers for Lamar Jackson, but not perimeter receivers like Hopkins.

Baltimore just extended Rashod Bateman, so relegating him isn’t necessarily very likely. Still, that’s why this would be a “fairytale”: having Jackson, Derrick Henry and Hopkins on the same offense is every Madden player’s dream.

While Hopkins is not having a good year in 2024, that is hardly his fault, as the Titans' offense under Will Levis has been a dumpster fire. The veteran did show he has plenty left in the tank in 2023, when he broke 1,000 yards through the air.

Hopkins would definitely provide an upgrade for Baltimore as a second or third option, and he wouldn't be too expensive, either, as he'll likely cost no more than a fourth-round pick considering his contract situation and age.

While we can't say for certain that the Titans will trade Hopkins, or that the Ravens would be interested in him if he's on the block, we can envision a trade between these two teams if both of those boxes are checked.
