On the same day the Las Vegas Raiders traded star wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets, the team officially welcomed another star to the franchise in future Hall of Famer and FOX broadcaster, Tom Brady.

Brady's bid to own 10% of the Raiders was finally approved by league owners on Tuesday, and he'll be joined by fellow former New England Patriot and Hall of Famer, Richard Seymour, who will reportedly have a 0.5% stake in the team.

Of course, the Adams trade went down just hours before Brady's approval broke, with Las Vegas receiving a conditional third-round pick from the Jets in exchange for the star wideout.

When asked about Brady's role as part owner on Tuesday, Mark Davis didn't have an exact answer yet, but he did say that although Brady can't play quarterback for the Raiders, he can help them find one.

Davis also had jokes, with the Raiders majority owner saying the franchise "traded Davante Adams for Tom Brady" and the third-round pick.

As far as the trade involving Adams is concerned, Davis said he did consult with head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco, but it was ultimately their decision. Davis also complimented Telesco on the work he did in dealing Adams while noting the move will relieve distractions for the team.

The move to bring Brady in as part owner is big for a few reasons. He can help recruit free agents moving forward, and his knowledge of the game will be a massive asset as the Raiders either retool or rebuild the roster.

And Brady's input will be especially important when the Raiders are inevitably looking for their next franchise quarterback in 2025, whether that be via the NFL Draft or free agency. Hopefully, it's the former after the disaster that was the Gardner Minshew signing.
