Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Allen Lazard are all aboard.

The New York Jets' offense is starting to look like the 2021 Green Bay Packers, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. That Rodgers-led team went 13-4 in the regular season while hitting the 30-point mark in seven of those games.

It remains to be seen if the 2024 Jets can come close to reaching that level of production, but maybe adding one more former Packers' offensive weapon will help.

The Minnesota Vikings released veteran tight end Robert Tonyan on Tuesday afternoon, making the 30-year-old available to the Jets and 30 other NFL teams.

Tonyan made 68 regular season appearances for the Packers over five seasons (2018-22). Having remained in the NFC North for his entire career thus far, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings this past May after spending the 2023 campaign on the Chicago Bears.

Tonyan began the 2024 regular season on the Vikings' Practice Squad. He subsequently appeared in four games but played sparingly. The 6-foot-5 tight end saw no receiving targets over 13 offensive snaps.

Last year, Tonyan logged 323 offensive snaps for the Bears last year but was targeted only 17 times as a receiver. He made 11 receptions for 112 yards and also played 203 special teams reps. His best statistical season coincided with Rodgers's 2020 MVP run. In 16 games that year, Tonyan secured 52 of 59 receiving targets. He totaled 586 yards and 11 TD catches.

New York has struggled to identify a reliable option behind tight ends Tyler Conklin and Jeremy Ruckert. The Jets waived undrafted rookie Brenden Bates last week, replacing him with veteran Anthony Firkser, who was on the Practice Squad. Although Firkser is a battle-tested commodity at this point in his career, it wouldn't be surprising if the Jets eventually replace him.

On another note, 2023 seventh-round draft pick Zack Kuntz remains buried on the Practice Squad.
