Week 6's "Thursday Night Football" matchup features a pair of NFC West teams in pursuit of the 2024 division title.

The defending conference champion 49ers are set to visit the Seahawks, and both teams are looking to rinse the bad taste of Week 5 losses against opponents they were expected to beat.

San Fransisco is coming off a 24-23 loss to the Cardinals, who made a fourth-quarter comeback before picking off Brock Purdy to seal the game. It marked the third loss in the last four games for the 49ers, a surprising twist for a team expected to be one of the NFC's best.

The 49ers beat the Jets in Week 1 and the Patriots in Week 4, but they've also lost a trio of one-score games. Running back Christian McCaffrey, who is on injured reserve, hasn't seen the field yet this season after an unexpected Achilles injury, and San Fransisco has dealt with a variety of other injuries on both sides of the ball as well.

The Seahawks, meanwhile, fell 29-20 to the Giants in Week 5 despite Geno Smith throwing for 284 yards and running for another 72. Seattle was torched by New York running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. and wide receiver Darius Slayton in the matchup, and the Giants concluded the game with a 60-yard blocked field goal score.

Even with some recent struggles, both NFC West squads remain well in the mix for the division, with San Fransisco sitting at 2-3 and Seattle at 3-2. There's a lot of football left to play in the regular season, but Thursday's matchup could wind up being pivotal in how the divisional race concludes.

49ers vs. Seahawks live updates, highlights from Week 6 'Thursday Night Football' matchup

All times ET

10:15 p.m. — Seattle has 1st & Goal after back-to-back eight-yard plays from Metcalf and Walker.

10:12 p.m. — On 3rd & 8, Smith fires downfield to Tyler Lockett for a 37-yard play, moving Seattle into 49ers territory.

10:08 p.m. — An offensive holding call doomed the 49ers' next drive, and they punt. If the Seahawks can put together a touchdown drive, they'd make this a one-score game all of a sudden.

49ers 23, Seahawks 10

10:00 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Right when the Seahawks needed a major spark, they got one. Laviska Shenault Jr. takes the kickoff 97 yards to the house, giving Seattle its first touchdown of the game.

49ers 23, Seahawks 3

9:56 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Purdy hits Kittle in the front right corner of the end zone, and the 49ers have full command of this game. Two touchdowns and three field goals later, they've taken a 20-point lead on Seattle.

9:54 p.m. — Despite returning for a play, Mason went back to the 49ers' sideline and was seen stretching out his injured shoulder. Isaac Guerendo has been on the field, and a chunk play from George Kittle sets up San Fransisco's offense nicely.

9:50 p.m. — As San Fransisco begins the second half with the ball, Jordan Mason is back on the field.

9:43 p.m. — Brock Purdy finished the first half 9/14 with 139 passing yards and a touchdown. Geno Smith, meanwhile, is 9/18 with 109 passing yards and an interception.

Halftime: 49ers 16, Seahawks 3

9:35 p.m. FIELD GOAL— DK Metcalf came extremely close to getting his feet in for a touchdown on 3rd & Goal, but instead, Seattle settles for a field goal. It's the Seahawks' first points of the game, just as halftime hits.

9:31 p.m. — Make it three catches on this drive for Smith-Njigba, who picks up another 10 yards to put the Seahawks in their best scoring position of the night. However, time isn't on their side, as just around 20 seconds remain before halftime.

9:26 p.m. — After the two-minute warning, Geno Smith finds Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 19-yard catch, the receiver's first of the night.

49ers 16, Seahawks 0

9:21 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Wright is already up to three field goals in this game. The 49ers' offense slowed down over time on that drive, but they still take a dominant 16-0 advantage with another three points.

9:17 p.m. — The 49ers are chipping away on this drive, mostly using plays on the ground from Isaac Guerendo, Brock Purdy and Deebo Samuel. San Fransisco is inside the Seahawks' 15-yard line.

9:12 p.m. — Jordan Mason picks up 14 yards on the ground, moving him to 65 rushing yards on the day. But, he goes down with a left shoulder injury after the play, and he eventually heads back to the locker room.

9:06 p.m. — Geno Smith nearly erased a 2nd & 23 with a 15-yard completion to Zach Charbonnet and a 49ers penalty, but the quarterback's pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba is incomplete on third down. Seattle's offense continues to struggle, and the 49ers will take over.

49ers 13, Seahawks 0

9:02 p.m. FIELD GOAL — The 49ers don't move the ball much with their golden opportunity, but they do come away with another field goal. It's been a 10-point 49ers run in the matter of minutes.

8:57 p.m. — Things go from bad to worse for the Seahawks, as they fumble the ball away on the kickoff and give San Fransisco's offense prime field position to build on its lead.

49ers 10, Seahawks 0

8:54 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — On the first play of the 49ers' drive, Purdy goes to his left and finds Deebo Samuel, who breaks free and sprints down the sideline to the end zone for a 76-yard touchdown.

8:52 p.m. — Fred Warner comes through to stuff Kenneth Walker on a potential first down, forcing Seattle to punt once again.

End of first quarter: 49ers 3, Seahawks 0

8:45 p.m. — San Fransisco goes three-and-out despite a nine-yard catch from Jordan Mason on first down. As a quick first quarter comes to a close, Seattle will take over.

8:40 p.m. — The Seahawks nearly come through with another big third down play, but Smith is hit as he throws to Metcalf, who's surrounded by 49ers defenders. The ball falls incomplete, and Seattle punts.

8:38 p.m. — Smith connects with TE Noah Fant to convert on a 3rd & 2 as Seattle looks to find its first points.

49ers 3, Seahawks 0

8:32 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Seattle's defense bends but doesn't break, forcing a pair of incompletions from Purdy on the goal line. San Fransisco still claims the game's first points, though, as Matthew Wright knocks a field goal through.

8:29 p.m. — Mason continues to run really well behind San Fransisco's offensive line. He picks up 38 yards on a play up the middle, setting the 49ers up for an early score.

8:27 p.m. — Brock Purdy, Jordan Mason and Deebo Samuel each pick up some small gains on the ground, then Purdy hits Samuel for 11 yards through the air.

8:21 p.m. — For the fifth time this season, Geno Smith is picked off. Malik Mustapha comes away with the opening drive interception, but the 49ers' offense will now get the ball deep in its own territory.

8:19 p.m. — On 3rd & 6, Smith finds DK Metcalf for a 30-yard catch and run, pushing Seattle into 49ers territory early.

8:16 p.m. — This matchup is under way after Seattle receives the opening kickoff. Geno Smith and the Seahawks offense take the field.
