The New England Patriots have had a number of important players since the turn of the century, but it's hard to argue that many (or any at all) had more impressive careers than Tom Brady and Richard Seymour.

Now, the future Hall of Fame quarterback and current Hall of Fame defensive tackle are joining an elite group of former players to become NFL owners, as their bids to buy pieces of the Las Vegas Raiders were approved on Tuesday.

Brady now owns 5% of Mark Davis' team (10% with a partner) while Seymour owns .5%.

The only other former NFL players to become owners are George Halas Sr. (whose family still owns the Chicago Bears) and Jerry Richardson (who sold the Carolina Panthers to David Tepper in 2018).

With this deal, Brady is no longer permitted to play in the league, which was a question despite the fact that he retired over a year ago.
