The Kansas City Chiefs are 6-0 despite key injuries to offensive weapons. Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco have suffered injuries that will keep them out for extended time or the season.

The Chiefs already traded for DeAndre Hopkins to cover for the loss of Rice. However, FanSided's Chris Landers suggested the Chiefs could acquire Miles Sanders from the Carolina Panthers too.

"Kansas City needs someone else to shoulder some of the load, and Sanders could be a good fit," wrote Landers. "He appears to be on the outs in Carolina as the Panthers hand the keys to Chuba Hubbard and Jonathan Brooks, it's not crazy to think that he's still got some life left in his legs, and his time with Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles (where he averaged an even 5.0 yards per carry) means that he should have at least some familiarity with Reid's system and verbiage."

Sanders signed a four-year, $25 million deal with the Panthers before the 2023 season. He was a Pro Bowler for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.

Pacheco is expected to return soon. In fact, he is already on the road to recovery. However, the Chiefs are not the type of team to wait around. They signed Kareem Hunt after rookie Carson Steele struggled to carry the load. Hunt has been great so far, but they still need another option in the backfield.

"No shade to the Kareem Hunt renaissance, but asking a guy to go from being out of football entirely to withstanding 25 carries a game feels like a risky proposition," wrote Landers. "And behind Hunt, the options are slim: Carson Steele struggled with ball security, Samaje Perine is more of a third-down option and Clyde Edwards-Helaire is still rounding back into form after taking some time away to address his mental health."
