Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson gave the fanbase quite a scare Thursday when he was held out of throwing at the final minicamp practice.

However, head coach Shane Steichen dismissed the idea that Richardson's injury situation is a serious one.

In fact, Steichen said the electric quarterback would have participated had this been a practice during a game week.

Steichen said Richardson was dealing with some soreness during Wednesday's practice, and the team decided to rest him on what was a short practice day.

Richardson himself said he was dealing with soreness but that it's been an expected part of the process the entire time.

He also mentioned that they were surprised this only happened one time during the spring workouts.

"We were actually surprised there's only been one day like this, and everything's been smooth sailing so far," Richardson told reporters. "And luckily it was the last day so we're not too worried about it.

The sound you hear is the collective sigh of relief from the Colts fanbase. Shoulder injuries are tricky, especially for quarterbacks so it was fair to have some concern.

However, it appears the Colts are being extra cautious with Richardson and his recovery after undergoing surgery to repair a Grade 3 AC joint sprain that ended his season after four starts.

This still will be something to monitor when training camp arrives at the end of July, but it appears the level of concern is low.
