The Thunder have revealed their new City Edition uniforms for the 2019-20 season, which will honor those who were killed in the Oklahoma City bombing as the 25th anniversary of the tragic incident approaches on April 19, 2020.
The Thunder partnered with the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum to create the game day attire, featuring the times 9:01 and 9:03 within the vents of the shorts. The first time was included to represent the innocence of the city before the attack, while 9:03 constitutes the time after the attack when the city began to unite and heal. The words "service," "kindness" and "honor" are shown above the jersey's tag, representing the Oklahoma standard.

The uniform includes "The Survivor Tree" on the waist belt of the shorts. "The Survivor Tree" remains standing despite facing a 4,000-pound bomb and symbolizes human resilience and strength. The uniform set also incorporates a blue ribbon with the quote "We Remember Those Who Were Changed Forever, April 19, 1995."
As the 25th anniversary of 4/19/95 approaches, we were honored to work with the OKC National Memorial & Museum to create our 2019-20 City Edition uniform. It's a tribute to those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever.

"April 19th, 1995 changed our city forever," Thunder general manager Sam Presti said in OKC's news release. "The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum serves our community by helping us remember those lost, yet also tells a story of a city that comes together with compassion."
Last season was the first time Nike presented the City Edition uniforms for NBA teams. The point of the uniforms was to take characteristics of a team's city and naturally integrate them into the jersey design. The Thunder decided to take it the next level.
The City Edition uniform is one of four new uniforms fans will see OKC in next season.
