The 2024 American League Championship Series begins on Monday night, with the Yankees hosting the Guardians.

New York hands the ball to veteran southpaw Carlos Rodon. The left-hander failed to make it out of the fourth inning in Game 2 of the ALDS, allowing four runs in an eventual 4-2 loss to the Royals.

Nonetheless, Rodon compiled a strong bounce-back campaign in his second season in pinstripes. He finished 16-9 with a 3.96 ERA and 195 strikeouts in 175 innings.

Cleveland will start either veteran right-hander Alex Cobb or Gavin Williams, who remained in the bullpen throughout the ALDS.

The Guardians are in the ALCS for the first time since 2016, when their season ended in Game 7 of the World Series. The Yankees are playing for the AL pennant for the second time in the last three seasons.
