With the Boston Red Sox 2024 campaign in the rearview, chief baseball officer Craig Breslow and company are focused on building the roster for 2025 and beyond.

Boston's front office will have a number of decisions to make this offseason, including what to do at designated hitter.

The position was mostly split between Masataka Yoshida and Tyler O'Neill last year, but the Red Sox have been trying to move on from the former and the latter is hitting the market himself.

An offseason surgery will likely impact Boston's ability to trade Yoshida, but if they are able to send him out, they might look in free agency to add another designated hitter.

Either way, it's good for fans to know who is available to be signed, so here's every designated hitter the Red Sox could bring in this offseason:

UFA

  • Justin Turner, 39
  • J.D. Martinez, 37
  • Andrew McCutchen, 38
  • Travis Jankowski, 33
  • Matt Carpenter, 38
  • Rafael Ortega, 33

Club Option

  • Marcell Ozuna, 33
  • Eloy Jimenez, 27

Mutual Option

  • Joc Pederson, 32
  • Gary Sanchez, 31

Opt-out

  • Rhys Hoskins, 31
