The Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from the World Series. They have not reached the Fall Classic in a full season since 2018.

And yet, this offseason could still be a very exciting one for Dodgers fans. The team won 98 games during the regular season, which was good for the best record in Major League Baseball.

Their starting rotation will get a major boost in 2025 when Shohei Ohtani returns to pitching, but they could add yet another strong arm to their mix.

Zachary D. Rymer listed Sonny Gray as the St. Louis Cardinals' top trade chip and also had the Dodgers as a possible fit.

Gray would give the Dodgers a big boost in their rotation.

They'll have both Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinubo Yamamoto back next year, and Ohtani will be pitching again. But adding Gray to the mix would give them an elite rotation with plenty of depth behind their top four starters in case of an injury.

This could mean that the Dodgers won't have to bring back Jack Flaherty despite his postseason success.

Los Angeles also has the young pitching that St. Louis would likely want in return with options such as Bobby Miller, Nick Frasso, Michael Grove, Kyle Hurt, Landon Knack, and Emmet Sheehan.

Putting Gray in their rotation might make them instant favorites to win a World Series title in 2025. The rotation would be elite, and the offense remains a threat as well.

It will be interesting to see if the Dodgers and Cardinals can get a deal done involving Gray.
