Early Voting wasn't quite seasoned enough to compete in the 24-horse Kentucky Derby field, according to jockey Jose Ortiz.

The 3-year old colt proved he had more than enough for the Preakness Stakes, though.

Ortiz's horse took the Run for the Black-eyed Susans in stylish fashion, trotting down the outside in the final stretch to win the 147th Preakness Stakes.

It was a blistering day at Pilmico Race Course. But it didn't seem to affect Early Voting too much, as the second-favorite claimed victory by about a length and a half over race favorite Epicenter

Owner Seth Klarman indicated that Early Voting likely won't take part in June's Belmont Stakes. However, he has certainly added his name to the rich history of Pilmico Race Course.

The Sporting News tracked live race updates and highlights for the 2022 Preakness Stakes on Saturday. Follow below for complete results.
