Updated Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings Week 5: Who to start, best sleepers and streamers at K image

Kickers are still drilling 50-plus yarders with ease, but the fantasy scoring from the position has finally cooled down. Just two kickers scored 15 or more fantasy points this week, something that happened 11 different times in Weeks 1 & 2.

Kickers can be a controversial topic within the fantasy space, so the stabilization of kicker scoring may bring joy to those who are anti-kicker. Regardless of which side of the aisle you fall on, kickers are a key piece of fantasy rosters and have shown the ability to swing the outcome of weekly matchups.

It's important to stay on top of kickers' production and future fantasy outlooks to ensure your team is in the best position to succeed. If you're not interested in heavily researching kickers, look no further than the Sporting News rankings. This is your one-stop shop to fill your kicker slot in Week 5!

Who are the best fantasy kickers in Week 5?

You're not going to see a whole lot of weekly turnover among the top tier of our kicker rankings. The upper echelon of kicking talent has separated themselves from the other kickers in the league. It just so happens that the best legs in the NFL are also members of some of the league's most potent offenses which provides them with plenty of opportunities to kick.

The blend of talent and scoring opportunities is what separates Brandon Aubrey, Harrison Butker, and Ka'imi Fairbairn from the rest of the pack. Unless their team is projected to be in an unusually low-scoring matchup, this trio of kicking studs will be atop our rankings.

You may notice that the rest of our top five is made up of kickers that are attached to high-end offenses. The goal at kicker should always be finding those who will see plenty of opportunities to score. Buffalo will certainly do this for Tyler Bass and Jake Moody is in the same boat with the 49ers.

Who are the kickers on byes in Week 5?

When it comes to kickers, unless you feel super strongly about not dropping Brandon Aubrey or Harrison Butker, we don't recommend holding anyone. When it's their bye week, cut bait, pick up another option, and hope you can get them back the following week. Given that guidance, we'll just list the players on bye from each team.

Philadelphia Eagles: Jake Elliott

Detroit Lions: Jake Bates

Los Angeles Chargers: Cameron Dicker

Tennessee Titans: Nick Folk

Who are the best fantasy kicker sleepers in Week 5?

Austin Seibert joined the Commanders just before Week 2 after being released by the Browns. He made his mark on the team immediately, knocking in seven field goals on as many attempts for 22 fantasy points. He cooled down after his impressive debut, combining for 19 points in the last two weeks. But it appears Jayden Daniels will be able to regularly put together scoring drives and Seibert will continue to be a top-12 option as a result, even if it's not 22 points per game.
