Another ranked matchup is upon us as the college volleyball season continues — No. 12 Kentucky is hosting No. 7 Texas Sunday.
The Longhorns are riding the high of a three game winning streak after sweeping No. 18 Florida on its home court last weekend. Texas simply overpowered the Gators in Gainesville, exposing cracks in their defense and capitalizing on their many mistakes.
Senior star Madisen Skinner led the kill count with 12, and outside hitter Kennedy Martin and setter Alexis Stucky contributed with a batch of their own.
Kentucky is also pushing for a fourth consecutive win after beating ranked opponents Florida, Oklahoma and Missouri recently. The Wildcats have not fared as well against top-ranked teams, but the motivation to notch a win against the defending NCAA champs could make for an intense matchup this weekend.
