The Toronto Blue Jays are deeply mired in injury woes to their pitching staff.
They made not one but two moves on Saturday to try to address that.
According to MLB Network's Jon Heyman the Blue Jays are signing both Spencer Turnbull and Jose Ureña to MLB deals.
Both are right-handers with ample MLB starting pitcher experience.
Turnbull was a free agent all offseason after making 17 appearances, including seven starts, with the Phillies last season. He hasn't pitched since June 27 after a right lat strain essentially ended his 2024 season.

Ureña was with the Mets on a minor-league deal. He made three appearances for Triple-A Syracuse and one for the big club before being designated for assignment.
Turnbull is 32 years old. He has pitched in 78 career MLB games, including 67 starts, and has a 4.26 ERA.
Ureña, 33, has thrown in 233 MLB games, including 152 starts. His career ERA is 4.80.

Neither is an inspiring option, but beggars can't be choosers.
The Blue Jays at least have pitching depth now as they try to navigate through a rough patch.
