Bucky Irving makes our list of best player prop and anytime TD scorers for Bucs vs. Cowboys on SNF

Sunday Night Football prop bettors had more reason to be hyped about the Bucs vs. Cowboys matchup that wraps up today's NFL Week 16 action when it looked like a Dak Prescott vs. Baker Mayfield shootout.

Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans, and the primetime game must soldier on, even though Dallas sorely misses their QB1.

Tampa Bay (8-6) goes into Sunday leading the NFC South by a game, with the now Michael Penix-led Falcons a game behind. Dallas (6-8) is pretty much just playing out the string, but we might still see some fireworks on SNF this week.

Best player prop and anytime TD scorer bets for Bucs vs. Cowboys on SNF

The Cowboys put up 30 last week in their 16-point win over the Panthers last week, and Tampa Bay exploded for even more than that while beating the Chargers 40-17. These high game scores influenced the over/under being bet into the 48-48.5 range. The Bucs are favored by -4 at online sportsbooks.

It’s time to figure out which player props you might favor for this matchup in the House That Jerry Built. Let’s take a gander:

Bucky Irving Anytime TD Scorer

Baker Mayfield threw five incomplete passes and four TDs last week, which is a pretty baller stat line. His ability to pilot the Bucs offense has them in a good spot this season, but the Tampa Bay RB room is probably yearning for some scores, too. The team's RBs rushed 37 times for 198 yards last week, but funnily enough didn’t score any TDs. Rachaad White and Bucky Irving each had 15 carries, and Irving’s yardage total (117) was buoyed by a 54-yard scamper. Irving lit it up for 7.8 YPC, and his 5.6 YPC in 2024 outpaces his counterpart White’s 4.2. Irving also has six TDs compared to White’s three. While both backs are producing, we lean toward Bucky to make prop bettors some bucks.

Brandin Cooks Anytime TD Scorer

If you want to bet CeeDee Lamb instead of Cooks as an anytime TD scorer this week, that’s fine. Lamb is head and shoulders above of the other Dallas WRs, but the odds on Lamb TD props don’t have nearly the same amount of juice. That’s where cooking with Cooks comes into play. In what seems destined to be Cooks’ last season with the Cowboys, he’s fought through injuries and suited up for only seven games through 15 weeks. His 16/144/3 stat line looks like something CeeDee would put up in one good game, but a Cooks ATTD bet is worth considering. He’s found the end zone twice in his last three games, and the attention Lamb is sure to draw from the Bucs D might open up some scoring chances for Cooks.

Mike Evans Receiving Yards

Mike Evans props are always fun to consider because he produces steadily, and when he goes off, he really goes off. It seems the future Hall of Famer will stay productive forever, and with WR2 Chris Godwin out for the year, Evans will keep getting targets. Players with nine TDs and 14.4 YPC usually get targets anyway, we suppose. Evans exploded for 9/159/2 against the Chargers last week. While he failed to hit 70 receiving yards in two of his last four games, he's posted 159 and 118 in the others. While Evans could certainly fall UNDER tonight's yardage total, he could also go OVER by a big margin.

Cooper Rush UNDER 234.5 Passing Yards

At first glance, it seems like this is a pretty low mark for Rush to surpass. It’s not like Babe Laufenberg filling in for Troy Aikman back in the day. Rush has been pretty solid as a replacement for Prescott, tallying 10 TDs to three INTs since being pressed into duty. However, Rush hasn’t passed for more than 214 yards in his last three games, and his 5.7 yards per completion speaks loudly to his inability to get the ball down the field. Whether that’s by design or due to arm strength matters not. What’s worth considering is whether you think Rush will go north of even 200 passing yards vs. the Bucs. He’s passed for less than tonight's total in three consecutive games.
