The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft has come and gone. The Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants each made two picks in the first round after trading up. The Giants selected Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, while the Falcons made their second defensive pick of the night, choosing Tennessee's James Pearce.

The central storyline of the first night of the draft was Shedeur Sanders' complete fall off the board. While Sanders is expected to be picked in the second round, he had originally been projected as the No. 3 pick to the Giants. However, New York chose Dart instead. The Steelers and Saints, still in need of a QB, are likely landing spots for him.

Sanders has been the biggest question mark as the draft approached, but it's no longer a question—his fall is official. Stephen A. Smith believes that Deion Sanders' influence may be playing a role.

“NFL teams don't want to deal with Shedeur Sanders because of his dad's influence, and they 'can't admit it,'" Smith said.

Amid all of this, Skip Bayless has been vocal in defending Sanders while questioning other decisions. Bayless has been relentless throughout the night, but his frustration really grew when the Giants traded up to take Dart instead of Sanders.

“Please don't tell me the Giants will now take Jaxson Dart,” Bayless posted.

“Shedeur Sanders is so much better than Jaxson Dart. This is just laughably sad.” he added.

Bayless' outrage over Sanders' slide is likely to spill over into his programming on Friday. It got so intense that Dan Wolken weighed in.

“Skip Bayless has tweeted about Shedeur Sanders so many times in the last three hours, we are on the verge of restraining order territory,” Wolken wrote.

While Sanders likely should have been a first-round pick, he'll end up going in the second. Bayless is in for a tough night now that Sanders has been passed over.
