Edmonton Oilers betting trends and analysis
Connor McDavid, widely regarded as the best player in the NHL, finally gets his chance to hoist the Stanley Cup in his ninth season as an Oiler. McDavid's brilliance was on full display with this opening goal against the Stars last night.

The Oilers don't rely on McDavid alone, as Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman are two of the league's top snipers. If there's a weak spot for Edmonton it comes in the crease with goalie Stuart Skinner. That said, Skinner was terrific in the series-clinching win over Dallas. The Stars outshot the Oilers, 35-10, and Skinner enjoyed his best game of the playoffs with 34 saves.
Defensively, Edmonton has been stout in front of Skinner. The Oilers have given up only 25.1 shots per game in the postseason. Edmonton did not allow a power-play goal in the series against Dallas.
Here are Edmonton's postseason leaders in points:
- Connor McDavid (5 goals, 26 assists, 31 points)
- Leon Draisaitl (10 goals, 18 assists, 28 points)
- Evan Bouchard (6 goals, 21 assists, 27 points)
Edmonton is back in the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006 after defeating the Kings, Canucks, and Stars in the playoffs. The Oilers are in search of their sixth Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Florida Panthers betting trends and analysis
The Panthers are seeking the first Stanley Cup in franchise history after ousting the Lightning, Bruins, and Rangers in the playoffs. Florida will compete in the Stanley Cup Final for a second straight time after losing to the Vegas Golden Knights last year.
Arguably the most complete team in the league, Florida is loaded on offense with a handful of players recording at least five goals in the postseason. Matthew Tkachuk leads the Panthers in points (19) with five goals and 14 assists.
Sergei Bobrovsky rates the edge in goal in this series over Skinner. "Bob" is 12-5 in the playoffs with a 2.20 goals-against average. Defenseman Gustav Forsling has enjoyed a productive postseason with 11 points and a team-best +11 plus/minus rating. Brandon Montour and Aaron Ekblad are also key cogs on defense for the Panthers.
On special teams, Florida owns the best penalty-kill percentage of all playoff teams at 88.1%. This will be a trend to watch considering Edmonton has the best power play in the postseason, converting on 37.3% of its chances with a league-high 19 goals.
Expect this to be a compelling series, with so many star players on both sides of the ice. Check out Conn Smythe odds at FanDuel ahead of Game 1 on Saturday:
- Connor McDavid +250
- Aleksander Barkov +400
- Sergei Bobrovsky +400
- Matthew Tkachuk +400
- Leon Draisaitl +650
Draisaitl is worth considering as a value bet to win the Conn Smythe. Only McDavid has tallied more points in the playoffs (31 vs. 28) among all skaters.
Oilers vs. Panthers Stanley Cup Final prediction
Edmonton aims to become the first Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup since Montreal in 1993. Ahead of the postseason, we predicted this matchup in the final for the company bracket contest with Florida emerging to hoist the Cup. There's no reason to deviate from that now.
