Bulls star predicted to be traded to Clippers in big deal: 'Should be thrilled' image

The LA Clippers and Chicago Bulls might become trade partners this winter on a blockbuster deal.

The Clippers are looking surprisingly playoff-worthy without Kawhi Leonard, which is an impressive accomplishment given the powerful depth of the Western Conference.

LA might want to level up before the trade deadline by adding another star, a move that would definitively put them in position for a deep playoff run.

On Monday, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz suggested that the Clippers could acquire a star from the Chicago Bulls who has been on the market for months.

Conveniently, two-time All-Star Zach LaVine of the Bulls hails from Los Angeles, which would make him excited about a trade to the Clippers.

“Give a lot of credit to head coach Tyronn Lue and his staff, who have gotten the Los Angeles Clippers to a 9-7 start despite not having Kawhi Leonard suit up yet,” Swartz said.

“Still, this is an offense that ranks just 22nd overall (110.2 rating) and needs some more scoring punch alongside James Harden and Leonard (when he returns).”

“LaVine looks far better this season (22.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 43.2 percent from three) and should be thrilled to return to Los Angeles after playing at UCLA.”

Acquiring LaVine might also make the Clippers more comfortable with exploring methods of trading Leonard over the next calendar year if he ever proves he can get back on the court for an extended period.
