The Boston Celtics won the first two games of the Eastern Conference first-round series against the Orlando Magic. Now, the series shifts to Orlando with Game 3 on Friday and Game 4 on Sunday.
The Celtics managed to get the win in Game 2 even without Jayson Tatum, who missed the contest due to a wrist injury he had suffered in Game 1 of the series.
The early Friday morning injury report had Tatum listed as doubtful, so it seems unlikely he suits up. However, the Celtics saw a surprising name pop up on the injury report: Jaylen Brown.
Will Jaylen Brown Play in Celtics-Magic Game 3?
When the initial report came out on Thursday, Brown's name was not there. But on Friday, the Celtics released a new update, and Brown was listed as questionable due to a right knee posterior impingement.
Injury Report update:
— Boston Celtics (@celtics) April 25, 2025
Jaylen Brown (right knee posterior impingement) - QUESTIONABLE
Jrue Holiday (right hamstring strain) - QUESTIONABLE
Jayson Tatum (right distal radius bone bruise) - DOUBTFUL https://t.co/2f67zRTVUk
Jrue Holiday was also listed as questionable, so there are plenty of concerns for Boston ahead of the weekend. In Game 2, Brown did the heavy lifting with 36 points and 10 rebounds in the 109-100 win.
Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis also had stitches after having his head cut open, so this Boston team has been ravaged by injuries during the first round.
Shortly before the game, the Celtics listed both Tatum and Brown as available in a big boost for Boston.
